The parent book group is designed to be an extension of our REACH program, which helps build social-emotional intelligence in our children. Parent support plays a critical role in helping our children develop the ability to problem solve and make important decisions. Having a parent community that supports our REACH program through a home-school connection is integral to our overall success.

Our parent book group is designed to operate in a small group format with the groups consisting of 10-12 adults run by a volunteer parent facilitator. Meetings are held monthly with the time and location established by the individual groups. Our hope is to engage in conversations to enhance our understanding of child development. Groups will be discussing themes from our reading, sharing ideas, experiences, resources, and the social-emotional issues that impact our children during this period of their lives.

Each group has an official parent facilitator. In addition to facilitating the discussion each month, all facilitators meet together at Skokie School once a month to prepare for our monthly discussions.
